Karim is a permanent searcher for unique terroir expressions. Abras is the first chapter of a long story that began when he fell in love with Cafayate, a high elevated desert in Salta at 1,700 m.a.s.l (5,577 f.a.s.l), cradle of Torrontés, and also of great Malbecs. We source fruit from vines that are over 50 years old, planted on alluvial soils at the bottom of the valley, getting more mineral and genuine expressions. In the same way the Incas used the Abras as roads to navigate the Andes mountains, we use this elvish portal to have access to the beautiful wine world of the Calchaquí Valley.

CAMINO REAL
The Abras are natural passages or portals that allowed the natives of the Calchaquí Valleys, and later the Incas, to unite and transit their vast empire. They considered them blessings from the Pachamama to whom they left offerings when crossing them. These Abras created a famous route that the Spanish conquerors used to connect their capital, Lima, with the port of Buenos Aires and also to transport precious goods through what they called "Camino Real" (Royal Trail). This blend represents our "offering" to those who appreciate the noble beauty of its wines, by combining different varietals from this unique terroir, to obtain the maximum expression and identity of the valley. A high altitude wine with a distinctive character that showcases the Argentine Northwest DNA. Long and spicy finish, complex with a good acidity. Quality, elegance and respect for the terroir make this wine an ideal pairing with typical northern cuisine.
