Avant Première of 3 new Caprichos
Back to all news
Last Saturday we held our annual CENA CON EL ENÓLOGO celebration. This time, the venue was in Mendoza, more precisely, in our centenary winery ALANDES in Maipú. This event was created with the intention of hosting the members of our Wine Club who, for this occasion, travelled from all over the country to attend this meeting where they had the opportunity to taste in Avant Premiere the new additions to our collection of unique, exclusive and unpublished wines: El Jardín de los Caprichos. At the same time, they enjoyed a beautiful evening along with with Lebanese food, art, live music and a few surprises. | March, 2022

Caprichos #17, #18 & #19

This celebration was very special because, on the one hand, we presented two new additions, each with its own story and its winemaking and artistic interpretation behind: the wines #17 (2019, 60% Cabernet Franc - 40% Cabernet Sauvignon | 24 months in French oak barrels) and #18 (2019, 60% Cabernet Franc - 40% Cabernet Sauvignon | 24 months in French oak barrels).

And on the other hand, because this time we added a new member (in homage to Oscar Marcovecchio) - 2011, 100% Malbec, 18 months in French oak barrels - which inaugurates a new phase of Karim as a curator of singular batches of wine. In the case of this wine, whose origin is very special from the winemaking point of view as well as for its history, we had the honour of welcoming one of its winemakers, the renowned Roberto de la Mota for its presentation.

Art and Wine

Throughout the evening there was live music by musicians Omar and Juan, who presented a varied repertoire of jazz and bossa nova.

We also had the participation of the renowned artist from Mendoza Fernando Jereb, who made a fantastic live intervention of 3 magnum bottles of our Library: Altocedro La Consulta Select Blend 2013, Altocedro Reserva Malbec 2014 and Altocedro Gran Reserva 2015. Each bottle was approached under a different concept; one representing love, another one nature and finally the desert and mountain landscape.

Photo: Fernando Jereb  is an artist from Mendoza with a long career and presence in the local cultural scene. He is known for his painting linked to landscape, metaphor and playfulness. In recent years, wine, his great passion, has taken on a leading role in his artistic language as a symbolic and expressive medium.

LEBANESE FOOD

LEYLA MUSSI delighting the guests with her exquisite dishes of traditional Lebanese food.
